Last night, Peter Booth and Duncan Conway met for the first time across a Backgammon table at The White Hart Hotel in Newmarket. Peter managed to open up a 5-1 lead in the early games but Duncan pegged Peter back to a 1 and 2 point lead for a while. Peter lead 9-8 as they went into what was to be the final game; Peter doubled too soon and Duncan replied with a 4 cube. The advantage swung in Duncan’s favour and he took the game and the match. This was Duncan’s first league match with the Club so he’s managed to get off to a great start!
