Julia Hayward and Neil Foston played their final match in Season 2 tonight with everything in the balance. The top spot and League Champion had already been decided, Mark Robinson taking his first title but who was taking the drop? Julia went into the match with a 1 point advantage over Neil and a win for her would have been enough, but Neil knew a win for him would put them both equal on points and the all important points difference would likely be the deciding factor.

And so it was to be. After a gruelling 2.5 hour match, Neil managed to win, but Julia kept her points tally as high as possible and with only 2 points in it, she secured her Division 1 status for next season.

Congratulations to Mark for winning Division 1 this season after finishing second so many times. Commiserations to Neil who will no doubt be looking to bounce straight back next season.
