The Golden Ball Inn, Boxworth was the venue for the first meeting between Neil Foston and Jon Ayling in Division 2 this season. It was a very close match and was poised for a classic finish at 10-10 in the final game. After the match, Neil admitted he was “packing his bags” as the game moved in Jon’s favour, but a horrific series of rolls thought to be influenced by untold and unseen forces local to Boxworth, turned the game around and Neil took the match 11-10. Perhaps Jon will want to play the next match in Needingworth which lies on the Greenwich Meridian?
