Steve Holman is close to securing the Division 3 title this season on the back of winning promotion from Division 4. Playing Rob Bolter in the first of two matches, Steve managed to take a 7-0 lead when the doubling cube came to the fore. Rob was the first to double, Steve took it to 4 and then Rob went to 8. That game went in Steve’s favour resulting in an 11-0 win.

The second match was a different affair with Rob taking a quick 6-2 lead. Steve clawed back to 6-4 and after some close games Rob lead 9-8. In the final game, Steve doubled and managed a gammon to secure 4 points and the match 9-11.

Only Caroline Knapp can possibly catch Steve now. The race to avoid relegation is also heating up!
