A thrilling couple of matches between Richard Coles and Mark Robinson decided the Division 1 Champion this season.

In the first, Mark built a strong lead to 8 – 3 before Richard was able to start chipping away to bring the score to 10-8 in Mark’s favour, but a thrilling last game ended in Richard scoring a rare backgammon to take the match 11 – 10.

The second was another very good match with Mark building up a good lead but fortune shone on Richard who eventually took the match 11 – 7 and with the four points in the bag, Richard attains an unassailable lead to claim the Division 1 title for the first time.
